Old Town was the original site of San Diego before Wiilliam Heath Davis tried to create "New Town" near the harbor in 1852. However, it was not until Alonzo E. Horton arrived in 1967, that the center of business actually changed to the seaside site. Now this designated historic community is located in West San Diego just across I5 from down town San Diego. The Mexican ambiance of Old Town is represented by the popular Bazaar del Mundo, Heritage Square, and a number of historic building.
