La Playa is one of the neighboring communities of Point Loma. It is home to the Cabrillo Monument Park, part of the National Park Service, just above Ballast Point. This park offers exhibits, and tours of the Old Lighthouse. Spectacular views overlook the city, the Navy's submarine pens and the open Pacific.
